Overview
Death Note is a 37-episode anime television series produced by Madhouse, based on the manga by Tsugumi Ooba and Takeshi Obata. It aired from October 2006 to June 2007, blending mystery, psychological thriller, and supernatural elements.
Synopsis
High school genius Light Yagami discovers a supernatural notebook dropped by a death god named Ryuk. The notebook, called a Death Note, allows its user to kill anyone by writing their name while picturing their face. Intending to rid the world of criminals, Light uses the Death Note to execute widespread justice, attracting the attention of the world's greatest detective, known only as L. A cat-and-mouse game ensues as L closes in on Light's identity, while Light seeks to eliminate L to fulfill his vision of a new world order.
