Synopsis

In an alternate world where the Holy Britannian Empire dominates much of the globe, Japan has been conquered and stripped of its name, becoming Area 11. Lelouch Lamperouge, an exiled Britannian prince living under a false identity, acquires the power of Geass from the mysterious C.C.: the ability to compel absolute obedience. Using the masked persona Zero, he raises the Black Knights against Britannia, determined to build a world where his sister Nunnally can live in peace. His childhood friend Suzaku Kururugi, however, fights for change from within the imperial system, setting the two on a tragic collision course.

The story broadens through sequels, films, manga, novels, and side tales. Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 continues the uprising's escalating consequences, while Akito the Exiled shifts to Europe and follows a new cast in the same war. Other works explore alternate timelines, supporting characters, and distant conflicts, including Oz the Reflection and Rozé of the Recapture. Across these branches, Code Geass remains a drama of rebellion, identity, sacrifice, and the impossible choices made to reshape the world.
