Synopsis
Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Ankoku Makai Mission! follows Future Trunks in the aftermath of his victory over Cell in his own timeline. He becomes a Time Patroller and works with Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time, to guard history from those who would rewrite it.
The opposition comes from the Time Breakers, who are tied to the Dark Empire Forces of the Demon Realm. After the Dark Empire restores its leader, Mechikabura, the group begins a search across time and space for the Dark Dragon Balls. Those artifacts are needed to return Mechikabura to his youthful prime, and their dispersal makes the race to find them urgent.
The Dark Dragon Balls have merged with villains from the past, giving those enemies new power. Future Trunks fights alongside allies such as Goku and Vegeta to stop the Dark Empire from completing its collection. The main conflict is whether they can thwart the enemy plan before it reshapes the flow of time.
Should You Read It?
Read it if you enjoy

- You like time-travel plots where heroes guard history from villains who seek to rewrite it.
- You want action-fantasy battles featuring Chronoa, Goku, Vegeta, and past Dragon Ball villains empowered by Dark Dragon Balls.
It may not suit you if
- Readers seeking a fully self-contained story may find it tied to Dragon Ball Heroes game lore and broader Dragon Ball continuity.
- Those unfamiliar with Dragon Ball timeline characters or Heroes concepts may need extra context before reading.
- Fans wanting low-stakes or slice-of-life material may not connect with its history-rewriting battles and Demon Realm conflict.
This automatic starting point balances the series length, pacing, time commitment, and available Volluble research data. Editors can override it when firsthand knowledge suggests a better entry point.

- At 17 chapters across 3 volumes, the story may feel brisk for readers wanting deeper development.
