Overview
This 88-minute theatrical compilation gives the Shibuya Incident a focused big-screen presentation before moving into the opening stretch of the Culling Game. Its appeal lies in the contrast between supernatural spectacle and tragic consequences, with urban danger, exorcism, and high-stakes clashes driving the experience.
It is most approachable for viewers already familiar with the anime, since the film condenses continuing material rather than introducing its world from scratch. An English dub also makes this compact, intense entry easier to follow for audiences who prefer dubbed viewing.
Synopsis
During the Halloween crowds in Shibuya, a veil suddenly descends over the district and traps countless civilians inside. Satoru Gojo enters the sealed area, unaware that curse users and cursed spirits are preparing a plan to remove the strongest jujutsu sorcerer from the conflict. Yuji Itadori joins his classmates and other elite jujutsu sorcerers as they confront an unprecedented concentration of curses.
In the aftermath, ten colonies across Japan become infested with curses as part of a scheme attributed to Noritoshi Kamo, a notorious sorcerer from history. The Culling Game begins, placing Yuji and the jujutsu sorcerers in a dangerous struggle against the forces and rules behind this nationwide crisis.

Production Background
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins- is a manga-based anime movie with a runtime of 88 minutes. It was released as a finished 2025 production and is presented as a single feature rather than an episodic entry.
The film combines a compilation of the Shibuya Incident Arc from the anime's second season with the first two episodes of the third season's Culling Game Arc. This format links the aftermath of the Shibuya conflict with the beginning of the next major storyline in one theatrical-length presentation.
Franchise Context
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins- is a feature-length anime continuation within the main Jujutsu Kaisen storyline. It is not a new starting point, remake, or separate spin-off. Instead, the film compiles the Shibuya Incident Arc from the anime’s second season and adds the opening two episodes of the third season’s Culling Game Arc, placing material from two successive stages of the television adaptation in one movie entry.
As a result, this work functions both as a condensed return to a major earlier arc and as an early presentation of the next arc. Its source material is the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, but the entry itself is an anime movie rather than a manga volume or television season. Viewers approaching it as part of the broader franchise should treat it as a continuation designed for audiences familiar with the preceding anime, with the Culling Game material providing a direct bridge into what follows.
