Synopsis

One-Punch Man began as a webcomic by ONE and grew into a superhero saga centered on Saitama, a hero who can end nearly any fight with a single punch. His overwhelming strength has drained the thrill from battle, leaving him bored, deadpan, and searching for a worthy opponent. Around him, a world of professional heroes, rankings, and monster attacks turns heroism into spectacle, rivalry, and bureaucracy.

While Saitama often solves crises instantly, the series follows an ensemble: devoted cyborg Genos, ambitious heroes, and villains whose plans collide with his casual power. The comedy comes from the gap between his absurd ability and everyday frustrations, while action builds through escalating threats and the struggles of those who cannot win so easily.

The franchise expands from its webcomic origins into a redrawn manga, multiple anime seasons, OVAs, and side stories, widening the cast and the scale of the Hero Association's battles. Later arcs push other characters into the spotlight, but Saitama's search for meaning remains the deadpan heart.
