Synopsis
The third television season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime continues the story of Rimuru Tempest, a man reborn in another world as a slime who has risen to the rank of Demon Lord. With his confrontation against Clayman settled, Rimuru's domain now reaches across the Great Forest of Jura, and the monster nation of Tempest has become a power that other lands can no longer ignore. Wanting to introduce that nation to the world and to attract new residents, Rimuru plans a festival that will open Tempest to visitors and dignitaries alike.
A great deal of the season concerns diplomacy and the daily labor of running a country. Rimuru's inner circle, among them the ogre siblings Benimaru and Shuna, the secretary Shion, and the demon Diablo, handles negotiations, security, and the endless logistics of hosting foreign guests. Delegations from human kingdoms and other factions arrive with their own agendas, and Rimuru must balance courtesy, trade, and deterrence while the dragon Veldora and other longtime allies remain part of Tempest's circle.
Far from Tempest, the Holy Empire of Lubelius and its faith of Luminism regard monsters as enemies to be destroyed. Hinata Sakaguchi, captain of the Holy Knights, receives what appears to be a declaration of war from Rimuru, but the message is in fact a forgery planted by an unknown party. When Rimuru learns that Hinata is on her way toward Tempest, he has to choose how to answer a threat he never made, and the season builds its central conflict around suspicion, manipulation, and the fragile possibility of talking a war back from the brink.

Production Background
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 adapts the continuing story of Fuse's light novel series, which Mitz Vah illustrates. The anime is produced by the studio Eight Bit, and the season was formally announced in November 2022. Cast members returned to reprise their existing roles, and the production staff who had worked on the second season and on the Visions of Coleus ONA came back for this installment as well, keeping the team consistent across the transition.
The season comprises 24 episodes with a runtime of roughly 24 minutes each, and it aired from April 5 to September 27, 2024 on Nippon Television's Friday Anime Night programming block and its affiliates, along with BS11. Stereo Dive Foundation performed the opening theme "Peacekeeper," Rin Kurusu performed the ending theme "Believer," and "Renacer Serenade" served as the second opening theme.
The season was finished at the time of its broadcast, and an English dub was produced for viewers outside Japan. It is available for streaming through Crunchyroll, Netflix, Bilibili TV, iQ, and YouTube.
Franchise Context
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 is the third television season of the anime adaptation of Fuse's light novel series, illustrated by Mitz Vah and animated by Eight Bit. It sits on the main franchise line rather than in a side-story or comedy branch, directly continuing the story told in the first two seasons and following the Visions of Coleus original net animation that bridged the animated timeline.
The season is a continuation, not a reboot, remake, or alternate version, and it aired from April to September 2024 with returning staff and cast members reprising their roles. It is one installment within a much larger property that also includes the ongoing novels, several manga adaptations, spin-off manga such as The Slime Diaries, and theatrical films. Within that hub, this entry covers only the 24-episode third season; the films, spin-offs, and games remain separate works with their own continuities and placements.
Where This Fits in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
A spoiler-light guide to where this exact work fits within the broader That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise.
Exact position: This is Season 3 and main anime entry 4 of 5. It follows That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 Part 2.
-
Step 1
Start with Season 1, then move through Season 2 of the TV anime so Rimuru's rise and the Demon Lord assembly land in context.
-
Step 2
Treat the Visions of Coleus ONA as optional side material if you want extra worldbuilding before this season; it is not required to follow the main TV storyline.
-
Step 3
Watch Season 3 as a main-line continuation after Season 2, since it picks up with Tempest's expansion and the fallout from Rimuru becoming a Demon Lord.
-
Step 4
After this season, continue with later franchise anime and films for the next stages of the story rather than stopping here.
