Fire Force

In a Tokyo where spontaneous human combustion turns people into fiery monsters called Infernals, the Special Fire Force is tasked with putting them to rest and protecting the living. Shinra Kusakabe, a young man whose pyrokinetic ability leaves him with frightening “Devil’s Footprints,” joins Special Fire Force Company 8. He aims to become a hero and uncover the truth behind a childhood tragedy that destroyed his family.

Company 8’s missions soon expose more than random combustions. Rival companies, ambitious fire soldiers, and shadowy religious and military forces compete over the nature of the flames, while Shinra and his comrades confront the Evangelist and the mysteries of Adolla. The story balances intense firefights with an ensemble cast, each member bringing unique powers, loyalties, and personal struggles.

The franchise expands from Atsushi Ohkubo’s manga into multiple anime seasons that widen the conflict: new Fire Force units, adversaries, and revelations about the world’s history and the source of pyrokinetic abilities. Across its run, Fire Force builds toward a larger confrontation while keeping the focus on Shinra’s resolve, his friends in Company 8, and what it means to be a hero.
