Overview
Orange is a multimedia franchise represented in Volluble by 16 connected works across 4 media categories. This hub organizes the franchise by release chronology and gives newcomers a clear starting point.
Synopsis
Orange follows high-school student Naho Takamiya, who one day receives a letter supposedly written by her future self. The letter warns her about a new transfer student, Kakeru Naruse, and asks her to watch over him and avoid the regrets her older self still carries. As Naho and her close friends—Hiroto Suwa, Takako Chino, and Saku Hagita—grow closer to Kakeru, they confront the tension between ordinary teenage life and the knowledge that small choices may shape someone’s future. The story blends romance, friendship, and quiet science fiction as the group tries to change a painful outcome without fully understanding what the future will demand.
The franchise expands from Ichigo Takano’s manga into the 2016 anime and the follow-up film Orange: Future, which carries the characters’ emotional time-travel premise beyond the main events and into later consequences and perspectives. Across these versions, Orange remains focused on regret, compassion, and the courage to act for someone else.
