Overview

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Conflict is a focused late-series anime chapter that brings the series’ supernatural conflict into a more urgent, war-driven register. Its appeal lies in the combination of swordplay, escalating powers, ensemble rivalries, and dramatic stakes, presented with a polished visual and musical identity.

At 14 episodes, it offers a brisk, high-impact viewing experience for established BLEACH viewers ready to follow the story’s final-stage momentum. Newcomers may find its action and broad supernatural premise approachable, but its direct-sequel status means the character history and worldbuilding are best appreciated with familiarity with the earlier anime.

Synopsis

Yhwach advances the next stage of his plan after confronting Ichibei Hyosube, leader of the Soul Society’s Royal Guard. His goal is to kill the Soul King, whose existence maintains the balance among the human world, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo.

Ichigo Kurosaki races to stop Yhwach and protect the lives within all three realms, while Uryu Ishida joins Yhwach’s cause in pursuit of a new world shaped by his vision. As the conflict intensifies, Ichigo’s complicated lineage leaves him vulnerable to Yhwach’s influence, placing his resolve and loyalties under severe pressure.

Production Background

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict is a 2024 television anime based on Tite Kubo’s BLEACH manga and adapting part of its final story arc, the Thousand-Year Blood War. The finished installment consists of 14 episodes.

Tomohisa Taguchi served as director and series composer, with animation production by studio Pierrot. Masashi Kudo handled character design and Shiro Sagisu composed the music, continuing the involvement of staff members who supported the earlier BLEACH anime. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump and published by Shueisha.

Franchise Context

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Conflict is a 2024 television anime and a continuation of the BLEACH anime line. It adapts material from Tite Kubo's BLEACH manga as part of the Thousand-Year Blood War, the story's final arc, rather than introducing a separate setting or a new spin-off series. Within the broader franchise, this entry belongs to the concluding anime project that follows the original television adaptation, which began airing in 2004 and ran for more than 360 episodes.

This is therefore not the beginning of BLEACH, a remake of the earlier series, or a stand-alone film. It is an individual TV installment in the adaptation of the final manga storyline, presented as a 14-episode continuation of the Thousand-Year Blood War anime. The project retains key members of the established production team, including character designer Masashi Kudo, composer Shiro Sagisu, and animation studio Pierrot. Its place in the franchise is best understood through the wider BLEACH anime sequence and the preceding portions of the final-arc adaptation, while this page covers only The Conflict.

Where This Fits in Bleach

A spoiler-light guide to where this exact work fits within the broader Bleach franchise.

  1. Step 1
Watch the original Bleach TV anime first, since Thousand-Year Blood War is its direct sequel and adapts the manga’s final story arc.
  2. Step 2
Begin Thousand-Year Blood War with its first installment, then watch The Conflict after the preceding installments in that project.
  3. Step 3
The Conflict is a main continuation, not an optional side story or alternate remake. Afterward, continue with the next Thousand-Year Blood War installment when available; no separate successor is supplied in this record.

Franchise Path

  1. Watch the original BLEACH TV anime, then the preceding Thousand-Year Blood War installments before The Conflict.

After You Finish

Continue with

  • Continue with the next Thousand-Year Blood War installment when available; this is a finished 14-episode chapter, not the franchise conclusion.
