Synopsis
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows kindhearted Tanjiro Kamado, a young charcoal seller whose life is shattered when demons attack his family. His sister Nezuko survives but is transformed into a demon, so Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps to find a cure and protect others from the same fate. Armed with water-breathing techniques and later sun-based swordwork, he faces powerful demons alongside fellow slayers, including the Hashira, while searching for the demon responsible for his family's tragedy.
The story unfolds in a Taisho-era Japan haunted by man-eating demons and the secret organization that hunts them. Tanjiro's journey grows from personal revenge into a larger battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and his Upper Rank demons. The franchise expands through manga arcs, the anime television series, and films such as Mugen Train and Infinity Castle, while spin-offs and light novels explore side characters, past missions, and lighter alternate settings like Kimetsu Academy.
