Synopsis
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure follows the Joestar family across generations as they confront supernatural threats tied to ancient artifacts, ambitious villains, and extraordinary powers. It begins with Jonathan Joestar, a noble young man whose life is upended by his adoptive brother Dio Brando, setting off a feud that echoes through the bloodline. Their struggle involves the Stone Mask and the ripple energy called Hamon, then expands into globe-trotting battles against immortal enemies.
From there, each part introduces a new JoJo—Joseph, Jotaro, Josuke, Giorno, Jolyne, and later Johnny, Josuke (JoJolion), and Jodio—while shifting time periods, settings, and tones. The series moves from Victorian England to 1930s New York, Japan, Italy, Florida, and a reimagined American frontier. A major turning point is the rise of Stands, manifestations of psychic power that make fights tactical and bizarre. The franchise broadens through manga parts, anime adaptations, OVAs, novels, and side stories like Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, while keeping its core themes of family legacy, bizarre encounters, and creative combat.
