Overview
Noragami is a multimedia franchise represented in Volluble by 8 connected works across 4 media categories. This hub organizes the franchise by release chronology and gives newcomers a clear starting point.
Synopsis
Noragami follows Yato, a minor god scraping by in modern Japan, taking odd jobs for five yen to build a shrine and be remembered. His world changes when he saves Hiyori Iki, a schoolgirl whose spirit becomes prone to slipping out of her body. Alongside his Regalia—a human soul turned weapon named Yukine—Yato navigates the hidden society of gods, spirits, and divine servants. Their cases bring them into conflict with other deities, especially the war god Bishamon, and expose the fragile bonds between gods and the souls who serve them.
As the franchise grows, the original manga expands beyond episodic exorcisms into deeper arcs about divine reputation, memory, and found family. The anime's first season adapts the early story, while Noragami Aragoto continues into the Bishamon and underworld conflicts. Spin-offs and side stories, including Stray Stories and Noraneko, offer lighter or supplemental glimpses of the cast. Across versions, Yato's quest for recognition becomes a larger struggle to protect those he cares for while confronting his own dark past.
